Advisory source-attribution-missing

Article content cites its sources

What this check means

Checks whether a page presenting itself as an article links out to any source at all.

Why it matters

Content that cites nothing is harder to trust and harder to corroborate. A system weighing whether to repeat a claim looks for whether the claim is anchored to anything outside the page making it.

How we detect it

We only judge pages declaring themselves articles via og:type. On those we count links to domains other than your own, ignoring social share links and navigation.

How to fix it

Link to the primary sources behind your factual claims — the study, the documentation, the announcement.

Check whether this applies to your site.
