Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (if you provide one)
- Authentication credentials (managed by our auth provider)
When you use our service, we process:
- Website URLs and sitemaps you provide
- llms.txt files we generate for you
- Page content fetched from your site during analysis and AI Enhancement
We store this data to provide the service -- generating, monitoring, and enhancing your llms.txt file over time. The llms.txt files we generate belong to you. You can download, modify, and deploy them freely. We do not use your generated content to train AI models or share it with other users.
If you consent to analytics cookies, we collect:
- Pages visited and time on site
- Browser type and device information
- Referring pages and general location (country level)
If you choose "Essential Only" in our cookie banner, none of this usage data is collected. See the Cookies and Tracking section below for details.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to manage your subscription -- such as your plan, billing status, and payment confirmation.
How We Use Your Information
AI Processing
Our service uses AI in two ways. Here is exactly what happens with your data in each case.
Website analysis and AI Enhancement
When you generate or enhance your llms.txt file, we send your website content to OpenAI for analysis. OpenAI processes this content to generate descriptions and summaries of your pages. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, content sent through their API is not used to train their models.
AI Citation Check
When you run an AI Citation Check, we send search queries related to your business to an AI search engine API. These queries are based on your llms.txt content -- your domain name, industry, and topic areas. The API returns search results, which we check for references to your domain. We do not send your personal information to this service.
Cookies and Tracking
When you first visit llmstxt.studio, you will see a cookie consent banner with two options. Your choice determines what data we collect.
Essential cookies (always active)
These keep the site working. They are not optional because the service cannot function without them.
- Authentication session -- keeps you logged in
- Cookie consent preference -- remembers your choice
- User preferences -- such as theme settings
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
These help us understand how people use the site so we can improve it. They only load if you click "Allow Analytics."
- Analytics tools that track page views, sessions, and general usage patterns
- No analytics scripts load if you choose "Essential Only"
Data Storage and Security
Data Sharing
We share data with the following service providers -- only what is necessary for them to do their job:

- Stripe -- payment processing (they handle card data directly; we do not store it)
- Supabase -- database hosting and authentication
- Resend -- transactional email (account notifications, password resets)
- OpenAI -- website content analysis and AI-enhanced descriptions
- AI search engine API -- AI Citation Check queries (receives search queries, not personal data)
- Analytics tools -- site usage analytics (only with your cookie consent)
Legal requirements
We may disclose your data if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Business transfers
If llmstxt.studio is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We would notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your Rights
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] or delete your account directly from your profile settings.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and you are using the service. Specifically:
- Account data -- retained until you delete your account
- Generated llms.txt files and site data -- retained while your account is active
- Citation check results -- retained to show historical trends; deleted when you delete your account
- Payment records -- retained as required by financial regulations
When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data. Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as total usage counts) may be retained for service improvement purposes.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Our service providers (listed above) operate globally. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data during any transfer.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as the service evolves. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the service before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
