All checks / Content Understanding
Warning
thin-contentPage carries readable text
What this check means
Checks that your homepage contains a meaningful amount of readable text, rather than carrying its message entirely in images or video.
Why it matters
A machine reads text. A homepage whose proposition lives in a hero image and a video is, to an AI system, a page that says almost nothing — and it will describe you from whatever fragments it can find.
How we detect it
We strip script, style, navigation and footer content from the homepage and count the remaining words. Under 100 warns.
How to fix it
Put your core proposition in text — a headline and a paragraph or two of real prose — rather than only inside images.
Check whether this applies to your site.
